Profile of the Department:

The Post Graduate Department of Economics was started in 1993 and the Under Graduate Programme was introduced in 1995. The course was started with the objective of meeting the growing demand for economists in the corporate world and to enhance job opportunities. The nomenclature was changed from 'ECONOMICS" to "CORPORATE ECONOMICS" in the year 2005. The Department constantly upgrades and incorporates latest and job- oriented subjects into the stream of Economics at both P.G. and U.G levels and thereby enabling students to face the challenges in the market.

Vision:

To achieve excellence in teaching, acquisition, development and dissemination of knowledge in corporate economics and to maintain higher standards of imparting moral values, ethics and commitment towards achieving social responsibility in students and address emerging global challenges.

Mission:

To offer quality education to socially, economically backward and minority students in the field of Economics. To provide a curriculum rich in employability and entrepreneurial skills to become accomplished citizens capable of critical thinking and independent analysis with high moral values.
